Another prediction by Paul the Octopus!

My favourite octopus, Paul has predicted that England will host the 2018 World Cup. Let's see if it's going to be true.. TBH, I really love this sea creature, he's cute.. :D

Paul became famous during this years World Cup after rightly predicting Germany's fate 7 times during the tournament and also, predicting that Spain will win the final. If this is the first you have ever heard of the little star, then this is exactly what he did during the World Cup: two boxes were put into his cage, they both had a flag on them representing the teams which were playing. Whichever box that Paul chose, was the team that he thinks will win, and he was always right!

Paul currently lives in a Sea Life Centre in Oberhausen, Germany but he was born in Weymouth, Dorset so the FA thinks that the octopus may have chosen to support his home team. If he has made the right decision, then Spain will not be too happy; he became a national hero after predicting that they will win the World Cup, so the fact that he is bidding on another team will anger them. He was so popular in Spain that he was offered a new home in Madrid.

Nicola Hamilton, the manager at Weymouth Sea Life Centre, said, “Paul has spent the last two years of his life in Germany, but he is definitely a proud Englishman and is therefore delighted to put his support behind England 2018. We have had a number of football approaches from around the world but Paul was only ever going to choose his homeland.”

It is not just Paul who thinks that his home team will host the World Cup 2018, England is the bookies favourite too!
